Card it!!!

Hello everyone!!

We all know that college is the best part of anyone's life and the best part of college is , the celebration of different days. I hope you all are enjoying the days , because for many of us this year is the last. Take in all you can, because these are the moments that will become memories. sob sob :( will miss my college .

Anyways coming back to the topic -> cards!! Cards have forever been a medium to communicate your feelings to someone. Because when it comes to admitting your feelings even a soldier might not have gut to say it. Sometimes its hard to tell the person how you feel , face to face. That's where card comes in. You can write all your feelings in it and just no need to say anything. And cards always touch the person's heart, especially when they are handmade.

When it comes to saying thanks or sorry, very few of us can say it out loud. If you can't than don't worry. Write it in a piece of paper. simple! And there is never a better time than present to thank your loved ones. How many of us thanks our parents for all of the things they provide us?? Just because its their duty does not mean they don't deserve a thanks. They don't even expect it from us. So surprise them with a "thanks" and see how their faces will light up. And to make it more special, make a card with your hands with all your love, because anything made with love is beautiful.

So today there is not much to show you but just some basic paper candles i made!!

Materials i used are some craft papers, thick or woolen thread, glue stick!!

To make the candle:

1) cut small squares of craft paper according to the height of candle you want
2) stick a small piece of thread to one edge of paper so that a small portion is visible
3) use a pen to easily roll the paper in circular shape just like making a cylinder
4) stick the end. Here u have two options either you can use glue or tape. I prefer transparent tape because its less messy and easy. Just make sure that the tape size is small.
5) stick those candles on ur card base, write ur message and tadda u have ur own handmade card.

And let me tell u one thing!! Even if you are not clear on your idea to make something, go on with what you have. I always do that and than in the process my mind keeps refining and improvising and the final product always turn out better than expected.

And remember a few posts earlier I told you that buttons look good anywhere, so here is one example :P

And here is one i made for my friend . I hope it will cheer him up :) PS i added googly eyes , just luv them :D

So go on , make your card and say what you need to say! Its now or never!!

see you later
till than
bye bye
take care
and keep spreading LOVE :)

Personalized mobile cover

Hello everyone!!

Well we all know that "necessity is the mother of all inventions" , and my this idea is a true example of this proverb. The problem is the cell I use. Well everything else is working just fine with it but its body is getting old :P so a few days back I went to purchase a cover for it and apparently found out that the company no longer makes it and its not even available in china market. So out of helplessness I had to resort back to my original cover which was well in a very bad condition.

So by now you must have understood where this all is going. And yes you are right. Today I am going to recycle my old mobile cover and give it my personal touch.I just love leaving my mark on everything I own. It makes them look different and well yeah just me.

And yeah its not necessary to use old cover only. You can even decorate your new one too. Its just about making it different and unique.

Now this time its going to be a little inconvenient to show you the steps because I accidentally deleted the pics :( ( MY bad) but will give you some general detail so that you also can make your own ;)

So the materials I used are

  • mobile cover
  • fevicol
  • two different colored anchor threads
  • some gem stones
  • acrylic 3D outliner
  • varnish
The first step was to pick out a design. And as i told u earlier that these days am obsessed about owls so it had to be an owl.

I started by outlining my owl body i.e. just the wings and face. You need a boundary for lining your thread. After the outline was dry enough to work with i started lining the thread in one of the wings. The process is simple. Apply some fevicol on the base and start arranging the thread in concentric manner form out to in. (just have a look at final picture, you will get the idea) . And as i have said in my earlier post that if your hands are too big or too clumsy use a pair of tweezers or something like that.

And then I repeated the same process with other wing and the body. And now since its threads that i used and i will definitely will frequently put it in my pockets so there is a chance that it will come off, so to avoid that coat it with a little fevicol water or some acrylic thinner or nail paint thinner. It will then become rock hard and will not come off.And than after it all dried now it was time for the eyes. And I can't tell you how confused I was between buttons but finally it was gems that i chose because they perfectly matched the copper outline. Now after i was done with the main design I let myself have some fun and drew some borders and flowers. And just to finish it off I coated it all with varnish . And taddda here I have my own mobile cover.

I used threads and gems but you can use anything. there are varieties of beads and gems and buttons are available. you van use anything you like, make any design. And its not necessary that only girls do this, even boys can do it. If you are imaginative enough , you can even make batman design, awesome right?? So go on have some fun.

See you next time :)
